The European tech sector saw significant financial activity this week, with over 70 funding deals totaling more than €1.7 billion. Among the largest transactions, Open Cosmos secured €300 million to advance its satellite intelligence and connectivity capabilities. Meanwhile, the cybersecurity firm Exein raised $270 million, reaching a valuation of $1.7 billion.

The entertainment platform Fever closed a funding round of $250 million led by EQT. In the semiconductor space, the Dutch startup EUCLYD attracted over €200 million in a Series A round and appointed former ASML chief Peter Wennink as its Chairman. These deals highlight continued investor interest in European infrastructure and deep tech.

Investment firms are also expanding their capital bases. Crane Venture Partners raised €419 million to support growth across Europe, the APAC region, and the US. Additionally, Brighteye Ventures secured $72 million in a first close to target the future of learning and work, while the BioInnovation Institute allocated €9.5 million to 17 early-stage startups.

Corporate consolidation continues with several notable acquisitions. The Vienna Stock Exchange is acquiring a majority stake in North Data, while Swiss firm Endra purchased Planlabs to enter the mechanical engineering market. Other deals include LeHibou acquiring Afarax and Fime taking over Red Alert Labs to strengthen their respective market positions.

Market adjustments are also underway, as Swedish fintech Trustly plans to reduce its workforce by approximately 200 employees. Concurrently, a new report warns that Europe faces an acute risk of marginalization unless the region commits billions in additional funding toward artificial intelligence infrastructure and development.
