Etherscan has released a Claude Connector that allows users to query blockchain data using natural language prompts. The tool integrates directly with the Claude AI model developed by Anthropic. It became publicly available on October 21, 2026, following its appearance in the Claude marketplace directory in September 2026.
The connector provides read-only access to on-chain information across more than 60 EVM-compatible chains. Supported queries include wallet balances, transaction histories, gas prices, event logs, and contract verification. It also tracks token transfers for ERC-20, ERC-721, and ERC-1155 standards.
For security, the tool is strictly read-only and cannot sign transactions or move funds. Every AI response includes direct links to Etherscan, allowing users to verify the data independently. The system is designed to provide information without requiring an API key or an Etherscan account.
This release follows the launch of an Etherscan Model Context Protocol (MCP) server in August 2026, which is part of the company's Build with AI initiative. The company now offers a tiered structure: the Claude Connector for general users, a keyless MCP server with 16 tools for developers, and paid API plans for advanced needs.
