Eka Robotics, a startup based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, has reportedly secured $150 million in a Series A funding round. This investment values the company at $1 billion, marking its transition to unicorn status roughly one year after its initial seed round.

Founded in 2025 by MIT professor Pulkit Agrawal and former DeepMind researcher Tuomas Haarnoja, the company previously raised $11 million in a seed round on May 9, 2025, with backing from Andreessen Horowitz and MFV Partners.

The company develops a robotic arm powered by a Vision-Force-Action foundation model. Unlike systems trained on human demonstration data, Eka utilizes simulation-based reinforcement learning and physics reasoning to enable robots to handle fragile and varied objects.

As of April 2026, Eka employs approximately 25 people. The new capital is expected to support the expansion of engineering and hardware teams, as well as the transition toward commercial deployments in sectors such as food processing and logistics.
