DJI has unveiled the Dock 4, an automated station designed to maintain continuous drone operations. The system features a mechanical arm that replaces a depleted battery with a fresh one in just 25 seconds, allowing the drone to resume flight in under 45 seconds after landing.

The station supports simultaneous charging of two battery packs. Each unit weighs 925 grams, offers a capacity of 260 Wh, and is rated for 400 charge cycles. Charging a battery from 15% to 95% takes approximately 27 minutes, which is significantly faster than the standard 30-minute charging process.

This hardware is part of DJI's 'Dock-as-a-First-Responder' strategy, aimed at emergency services and organizations requiring constant aerial surveillance. While other manufacturers have previously introduced similar battery-swapping technologies, the Dock 4 marks the first such implementation within the DJI product lineup.
