Disney+ has updated its user agreement, introducing advertisements across all subscription tiers. The platform will now display promotional content, sponsorships, and commercials before or after movies and series, even for users on the Premium Plan.

The Premium Plan, previously marketed for its ad-free experience, is priced at $18.99 per month. In contrast, the Basic Plan with ads costs $11.99 per month, creating a price difference of $7 between the two tiers.

Users are required to accept the updated terms upon login to continue accessing the service. Disney confirmed that live content and traditional channels will also feature standard mid-roll advertisements.

The only exception to the new policy is the Kids Mode, which remains free of commercial and sponsored content. Disney noted that some promotional clips cannot be skipped and warned that ad blockers may prevent video playback.

The company stated that it does not guarantee the frequency or volume of advertisements across any subscription level. The updated agreement effectively reduces the value proposition of the higher-priced premium tier.
