Nvidia partners have resumed production of the GeForce RTX 3060, a model previously discontinued in 2024. The decision stems from a shortage and rising costs of GDDR6 memory used in the RTX 50 series. By utilizing the older 8nm Samsung process and GDDR6 memory, manufacturers are bypassing the need for more expensive modern components.
Despite being an older model, the RTX 3060 is now retailing at higher prices. Versions from Yeston and Maxsun exceed ¥2600, while the Colorful Battle Axe model reaches ¥3300. These prices are significantly higher than those of comparable Asus cards, which are currently priced ¥200–300 lower.
The broader hardware market is experiencing significant price hikes. DDR5 memory kits have surged from ¥600–800 in September 2025 to between ¥3000 and 4000. Meanwhile, mainstream graphics cards have seen price increases exceeding 50%, with the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti rising by 61% compared to its initial launch price.
