Denza, a sub-brand of BYD, announced an upcoming over-the-air update for its discontinued N7 SUV. The update will introduce a low-power sentry mode designed to reduce battery consumption and range loss while the vehicle is parked.

The manufacturer plans to release this update in 2027. The company attributes the extended development timeline to the complexity of integrating multiple technologies and ensuring consistent performance across various vehicle functions.

The new sentry mode may eventually be deployed to other models within the Denza and BYD lineups. The company has previously used over-the-air updates to add sentry mode functionality to vehicle models that did not originally support the feature.

The Denza N7 was launched in July 2023 and reached a final retail price of ¥259 800 to ¥289 800. During its production run, the model recorded 18 979 total deliveries in the Chinese market.
