Chinese artificial intelligence startup DeepSeek is scheduled to participate in a United Nations Security Council meeting this week. The session will focus on the risks associated with AI technology and its impact on international security.

The meeting, which includes 15 member states, is set to take place on Wednesday in New York. The event coincides with the annual UN General Assembly, drawing world leaders to the city.

In addition to DeepSeek, representatives from the Chinese AI company Moonshot AI have also been invited to address the council. Previous reports indicated that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and senior representatives from Anthropic were also expected to attend.

DeepSeek founder Liang Wenfeng is currently not scheduled to attend the event in person. Sources noted that the list of speakers and arrangements could still be subject to last-minute changes.
