Chinese AI startup DeepSeek has secured approximately $15 billion in a new funding round. The investment values the company at $74 billion before the new capital is added, potentially pushing its post-money valuation to nearly $89 billion.
The round attracted more than 15 investors, including Tencent, CATL, Geely, GigaDevice, Meituan, Midea, and NetEase. Financial firms such as Boyu Capital, CPE, Legend Capital, and IDG Capital also participated in the financing.
This capital injection follows an earlier funding round in June, which raised $7.4 billion and valued the company at approximately $52 billion. The current fundraising significantly exceeded the initial target of $7.5 billion.
DeepSeek is reportedly preparing for a potential IPO on the Shanghai STAR Market. The company has hired CITIC Securities to advise on the listing, although no final date or valuation for the public offering has been announced.
The company continues to focus on AI model development and integration with domestic infrastructure, including Huawei’s Ascend chips. Its latest model, DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash, was released in September.
