DeepSeek has released version 0.1.5 of its Harness tool, featuring specific training and optimization for the DeepSeek V4.1 Flash model. The update covers standard, programmatic tool calling, and minimalist modes, while allowing system prompt updates without clearing the KV Cache.
The web interface now includes file upload support for formats like PDF and images, alongside a sidebar for file tree navigation and previewing Markdown, HTML, and code files. Users can interact with the model via feedback buttons or commands.
New standardized plugin entry points have been added to the left and right sidebars, enabling developers to register global tabs and content panels. This structure supports multi-tab and split-screen views for better tool management.
The update improves performance for long conversations by reducing memory usage and optimizing storage formats. It also introduces bidirectional communication between parent and child agents, allowing users to edit messages or interrupt tasks in real-time.
An experimental 'Agent Teams' feature allows a main agent to create and manage multiple team members for task delegation and tracking. This feature is disabled by default and requires manual activation via command-line profiles, noting that it consumes additional tokens.
Developers can launch the web UI using the 'npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web' command or install from the source code via GitHub. Future plans include a built-in plugin management panel and expanded APIs for plugin developers.
