Deel has launched Akai, a workflow automation platform driven by a network of AI agents. The company developed the tool internally to manage its own finance, tax, treasury, and HR operations before making it available to external customers.
According to the company, the platform reduced the need for approximately 600 employees within Deel. The system automates over 100,000 cases per month, saving more than 91,000 labor hours. Specifically, payment processing tasks now save over 8,000 hours monthly, and complex reconciliations are completed in minutes instead of 20 days.
The platform allows operations teams to build and deploy agents without writing code or involving IT support. CEO Alex Bouaziz confirmed that thousands of internal workflows were running on the system prior to its public release in May 2026. The tool is GDPR-compliant and currently available for early access via akai.run.
