D-Wave Quantum Inc. has launched a beta program for its new gate-model quantum computing simulator. The platform allows users to test error-aware programs using the company’s proprietary dual-rail superconducting gate-model technology.
The simulator is designed to address the challenge of quantum error correction. It utilizes high-fidelity two-qubit entangling gates to detect and correct errors, which the company claims is essential for achieving fault-tolerant quantum computing.
The beta program includes participants from both commercial and research sectors, such as Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria S.A., FirstQFM, Florida Atlantic University, and the Jülich Supercomputing Centre.
According to D-Wave CEO Dr. Alan Baratz, the simulator provides organizations with early access to explore efficient approaches to fault tolerance. The company recently published research in Nature detailing the foundational layer of this dual-rail architecture.
