The key2SCM supply management platform, developed by Custis, has introduced an automated lot creation feature. This update bridges the gap between supply planning and procurement procedures by automatically generating purchase lots from approved demand plans.
Previously, the process of grouping procurement requests was manual and relied on the expertise of individual specialists. The new system automates the entire chain from demand to procurement, applying objective criteria set by methodologists, such as material categories, geography, and business activity.
The platform incorporates mandatory requirements for legal compliance and economic feasibility. Before a procurement procedure begins, specialists can manually adjust lots if necessary. The system also prepares all required documentation, including specifications and equipment questionnaires.
Integration with existing ERP or procurement systems is supported without requiring replacements. Each procurement remains linked to its original demand, allowing for rapid cancellation if requirements change. According to Roman Alekseev, head of supply chain practice at Custis, this functionality reduces procurement preparation time by 10-15%.
