CryptoPro is developing a new web browser featuring built-in cryptographic tools to comply with Russian legal requirements. The project has already received approval from the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation.

The new browser will be part of the CryptoPro CSP 6.0 software suite. It is designed to support TLS connections using Russian encryption algorithms, ensuring secure access to websites in accordance with national security standards.

The development follows the removal of the CryptoPro extension from the Google Chrome Web Store in February 2025. The new product will incorporate existing technical developments from the company's previous open-source projects, such as Chromium-Gost.

Industry experts estimate the cost of the project at several tens of millions of rubles. The browser may become mandatory for the public sector within one or two years to meet the requirements of the FSTEC and the FSB.
