New York-based commerce data platform Chord has acquired the AI-powered business intelligence startup Zenlytic. The transaction, the terms of which remain undisclosed, has effectively doubled Chord's revenue.
Zenlytic was established in 2018 by Ryan Janssen and Paul Blankley. Prior to the acquisition, the startup secured $15.4 million in equity funding from investors including Sequoia Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, and Primary Venture Partners.
The startup's AI analyst tool, Zoë, processes data directly from enterprise warehouses. Its client list features major corporations such as Verizon, J.Crew, Domino's, and Stanley Black & Decker.
Chord, founded in 2021, previously focused on commerce brands. By integrating Zenlytic's analytics engine and team, the company intends to expand its operations into the broader enterprise software market.
The acquisition allows Chord to provide infrastructure for companies to manage business context independently. This enables firms to maintain control over their data definitions and metrics while utilizing various AI models.
