Four Chinese government agencies, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Public Security, held a meeting with over 30 major automotive manufacturers. The authorities urged companies to prioritize product safety and improve their research and development testing protocols.

The regulators emphasized that manufacturers must avoid irrational market competition and strictly adhere to product quality standards. Companies are required to conduct thorough safety assessments for innovative designs and ensure that all potential hazards are identified and eliminated during the development phase.

The new guidelines prohibit misleading marketing practices. Automakers must accurately disclose the limitations and operating boundaries of their vehicle features. Advertising must not depict scenarios that violate traffic laws or encourage drivers to neglect their safety responsibilities.

Looking ahead, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology plans to update safety standards and tighten regulatory requirements. Authorities will conduct ongoing inspections of major manufacturers and publicly disclose any violations, aiming to ensure long-term stability in the automotive sector.
