Several courier companies in the Anhui region have raised their delivery rates starting September 20. The minimum increase is ¥0.15 per parcel. This price adjustment primarily targets business-to-business (ToB) clients and aims to offset rising operational costs and address issues stemming from long-term low-price competition.

Similar measures are being implemented in the Jiangsu region, where delivery fees have increased by at least ¥0.1 per parcel. These adjustments are part of a broader industry trend to move away from aggressive price-based competition, which has historically led to low courier wages and operational difficulties for local distribution centers.

The State Post Bureau has held multiple meetings since July 2025 to address industry competition. Regulators are urging companies to abandon the 'volume over quality' strategy and improve labor conditions for couriers. Recent visits to major headquarters, including ZTO, YTO, Yunda, STO, and J&T, emphasized the need for fair management and stable service networks.

Authorities are now focusing on enforcing labor laws, ensuring fair compensation for delivery personnel, and improving safety management. Companies are encouraged to integrate new technologies, such as AI and big data, to enhance operational efficiency and support the long-term, high-quality development of the logistics sector.
