China Telecom Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (TeleAI) has officially launched Gamma Robotics, a new embodied AI company based in Shanghai's Xuhui District. This entity marks the first market-oriented innovation firm incubated by TeleAI, focusing on the development of self-evolving humanoid robots.

The company is backed by a strategic investment from the China Telecom (Shanghai) Artificial Intelligence Industry Private Equity Fund. This fund features a multi-layered capital structure involving central state-owned enterprises, local government investment, and national strategic emerging industry funds.

Professor Li Xuelong, CTO and Chief Scientist of China Telecom Group, will serve as the scientific advisor for Gamma Robotics. Dr. Bai Chenjia has been appointed as the founder and CEO of the new venture. The company will establish a joint humanoid robot laboratory with TeleAI.

Gamma Robotics aims to leverage China Telecom's infrastructure, including its AI Flow communication network, to advance full-body models for robots. The research will focus on enabling robots to learn continuously in real-world environments, improving their mobility, balance, and collaborative task execution.
