The AR-E800, a domestically developed six-rotor drone, recently completed its first public flight in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi. The aircraft is designed for heavy-duty lifting and short-distance logistics, with a maximum payload capacity of 320 kilograms. It is capable of transporting up to 14 tons of cargo per day and operating at altitudes of up to 4,800 meters.
The Aviation Industry Corporation of China Computing Technology Research Institute provided the core flight control computer and obstacle avoidance system for the drone. During the demonstration, the AR-E800 successfully performed maneuvers including cargo transport and suspended load operations. These tests confirmed the reliability and handling of the platform in complex low-altitude environments.
The flight control computer utilizes a redundant architecture for attitude calculation and power distribution. It features active sway suppression to counteract disturbances caused by gusts and heavy suspended loads. Meanwhile, the obstacle avoidance system integrates multi-source detection data to identify obstacles, enabling dynamic route replanning and autonomous navigation to enhance operational safety.
