The Ministry of Commerce of China has released a comprehensive policy document titled 'Opinions on Accelerating the Promotion of Commerce through Technology.' This initiative aims to integrate technological innovation across the entire commercial supply chain, from product development and manufacturing to logistics and retail services.
According to data from the Ministry of Commerce, sales of smart glasses on key platforms increased by 1.1 times during the first nine months of this year. This growth highlights the rising consumer interest in products incorporating artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and blockchain technologies.
The new policy focuses on three core pillars: innovation, comprehensive coverage, and practical implementation. It encourages the use of flexible manufacturing and on-demand production to better match supply with demand. Additionally, the government plans to promote the digital transformation of domestic, medical, and elderly care services.
To address quality concerns in e-commerce, the ministry intends to launch initiatives aimed at improving product standards. This includes strengthening the online verification of key products sold on e-commerce platforms to ensure better consumer protection and market transparency.
