Alibaba DAMO Academy announced the XuanTie E908A processor at the RISC-V China Summit in Shenzhen. This new chip is designed for automotive applications and is the first RISC-V CPU IP to meet both ASIL-B and ASIL-D safety standards. It achieves a Single Point Fault Metric (SPFM) exceeding 90%, targeting safety islands, domain controllers, and automotive gateways.

The company also unveiled a product roadmap for autonomous driving and embodied intelligence. The upcoming C950A processor is expected to deliver five times the performance of current RISC-V automotive chips. These developments aim to expand the reach of the RISC-V architecture into high-value sectors, including AI-driven automotive systems and server-grade computing.

Industry data suggests that RISC-V processor shipments are growing at an annual rate of 50%, with a projected market share of 25% by 2030. DAMO Academy continues to focus on high-performance computing, with its C950 processor showing a 10% performance improvement over traditional architectures in Agentic AI workloads and reaching 43 tokens per second when running the Qwen3.8-Flash-Next model.
