Four Chinese government departments, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Public Security, have released a draft notice to regulate automotive innovation and testing. The document mandates that manufacturers must actively investigate and analyze safety incidents involving their products, including design anomalies or collisions.

Companies are required to maintain accurate and complete records of safety data. If a traffic accident occurs, manufacturers must provide technical assistance and data to public security authorities upon request. This measure aims to address industry issues where companies rush to launch new products without sufficient testing.

The draft introduces strict requirements for research and development validation. New products must undergo comprehensive testing, covering software reliability, structural integrity, and environmental adaptability. Specifically, the environmental testing cycle must last at least one year, while reliability tests must cover a minimum distance of 30,000 kilometers.
