The Lijian-2 Y2 carrier rocket has arrived at its designated launch site within the Dongfeng Commercial Aerospace Innovation Pilot Zone. Developed by CAS Space, the vehicle is currently undergoing final preparations for an upcoming mission.
The rocket features a maximum payload capacity of 12 tons and is designed for both multi-satellite launches and space cargo transport. It utilizes a modular universal booster core configuration, which allows for the assembly of three identical core structures to enhance performance and streamline mass production.
According to Deputy Chief Designer Li Qinfeng, the assembly and testing phases are complete. The team is now preparing for interface drills, propellant loading, and final launch procedures. The rocket is scheduled to deploy a low-Earth orbit satellite constellation.
The inaugural flight of the Lijian-2 series occurred on March 30 of this year. During that mission, the Y1 rocket successfully delivered a 4.2-ton payload into orbit.
