Canada is preparing to participate in a €90 billion support loan package for Ukraine. Brussels has confirmed the country's involvement in the initiative, which aims to provide financial assistance to the Ukrainian government.

The agreement allows Ukraine to purchase military equipment directly from Canadian defense manufacturers. This arrangement bypasses the standard 'Made in Europe' requirement that usually governs the procurement of weapons funded by such European loan programs.

Under the terms of the deal, Canada will take on a proportional share of the annual interest payments associated with the loan. This financial commitment marks a shift in how the country contributes to the ongoing military support efforts for Ukraine.
