BYD has released official cabin sketches for the second-generation Seagull, revealing a redesigned interior with a floating central display and a two-spoke steering wheel. The new model lacks a dedicated driver instrument cluster, instead displaying driving information on the central touchscreen. The center console now features a horizontal row of physical buttons and a raised bridge with a wireless charging pad.
The vehicle has grown significantly, with dimensions reaching 4,205 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, featuring a 2,650 mm wheelbase. This represents an increase of 425 mm in length compared to the original model. The new hatchback is designed to seat five passengers, moving away from the smaller footprint of the previous version.
Technical specifications include a 95 kW permanent-magnet synchronous motor and two lithium iron phosphate battery options of 30 kWh and 39.2 kWh. These configurations provide a CLTC range of 320 km and 420 km, respectively. Additionally, the vehicle may feature an optional roof-mounted LiDAR sensor integrated with the DiPilot 300 driver-assistance system.
While BYD has confirmed a market launch within this year, the company has not yet announced specific pricing or whether the new model will replace the current Seagull. In August 2026, BYD delivered 10,103 units of the current Seagull domestically, maintaining consistent sales levels observed over recent months.
