The second-generation BYD Seagull electric hatchback has successfully completed a tire blowout test at a speed of 140 km/h. During the trial, a pre-installed device punctured the front right tire, causing rapid deflation. The vehicle maintained stability and stayed on course while decelerating, demonstrating a traction control system typically reserved for more expensive models.

The new model features dimensions of 4205/1810/1570 mm and a 2,650 mm wheelbase, making it 425 mm longer than its predecessor. It is an RWD vehicle available with two electric motor options of 85 kW or 95 kW. Customers can choose between 30.1 kWh and 39.2 kWh LFP batteries, providing a CLTC range between 320 and 420 km. The car supports flash charging, reaching 97% capacity in nine minutes.

The vehicle includes the LiDAR-based DiPilot 300 assisted driving system, which supports autonomous parking and navigation on urban roads and highways. Interior features include a 15.6-inch screen, a 50W wireless charging pad, and a driver seat massage function. The hatchback is priced between ¥65,900 and ¥99,900, which is approximately $9,880 to $14,850.
