The second-generation BYD Seagull, a larger successor to the current model, is preparing for its market debut. The vehicle features increased dimensions of 4205/1810/1570 mm and a 2650 mm wheelbase, allowing it to accommodate five passengers instead of four.
The hatchback will be equipped with 30 kWh and 39.2 kWh LFP battery packs, offering CLTC ranges of 320 km and 420 km respectively. Reports suggest the higher trim may utilize Blade Battery 2.0 technology, enabling 9-minute Flash Charging sessions from 10% to 70%.
Performance upgrades include a new 95 kW front motor, providing a top speed of 150 km/h. Spy shots also indicate the potential inclusion of the DiPilot 300 assisted driving system, supported by a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor.
While official pricing remains unannounced, the model is expected to exceed the current range of ¥69 900 to ¥85 900. It may become the first BYD vehicle to offer Flash Charging capabilities at a price point below ¥100 000.
