BYD is set to launch the second-generation Seagull electric vehicle in China on October 20. The company began accepting pre-orders for the updated model on October 9, though official pricing has not yet been disclosed.

The new Seagull is 425 mm longer than its predecessor, measuring 4,205 mm in length, with a wheelbase increased by 150 mm to 2,650 mm. The vehicle now accommodates five passengers instead of four.

The updated model features a more powerful permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum output of 95 kW, compared to the 55 kW motor in the previous version. It utilizes lithium iron phosphate batteries.

New features include power-adjustable front seats, a massage function for the driver, and rear air vents. The vehicle offers a 94-liter frunk and a maximum rear cargo capacity of 1,380 liters.

The Seagull remains a significant part of BYD's Ocean lineup, with cumulative sales reaching approximately 1.55 million units from April 2023 through September 2026.
