Fang Cheng Bao, a sub-brand of BYD, has launched the Formula S sedan and Formula S GT hatchback in China. The Formula S starts at $27 900, while the GT version begins at $32 000 for rear-wheel drive and $35 200 for all-wheel drive models.
The Formula S offers five configurations with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive and two battery options of 76.7 kWh or 92 kWh. Depending on the setup, the vehicle provides a range between 730 km and 900 km under the CLTC cycle. The GT model is exclusively equipped with a 92 kWh battery.
The vehicles feature two types of active suspension: DiSus-A pneumatic or DiSus-M hydraulic with magnetorheological fluid, available at no extra cost. The second-generation Blade battery supports fast charging, reaching 70% capacity in 5 minutes and 97% in an additional 4 minutes.
Both models are over 5 meters long with a 2960 mm wheelbase and a drag coefficient of 0.25. The cars are equipped with the God’s Eye B driver assistance system, which includes a lidar for autonomous driving, obstacle avoidance, and automatic parking capabilities.
The interior includes a 26-inch augmented reality head-up display, a Devialet sound system, and zero-gravity front seats. Additional features include physical control buttons, a refrigerator, and options for karaoke systems and customizable ambient lighting.
