BYD is recalling 183 000 vehicles in China due to a defect in the brake pedal stopper. The faulty component can crack or detach over time, causing brake lights to illuminate randomly even when the driver is not braking.

The recall affects the Qin and Tang model series manufactured between 2014 and 2022. The company will replace the defective parts free of charge through authorized dealers. This issue is limited to vehicles sold within the Chinese market.

Separately, the State Administration for Market Regulation announced a recall for 686 Nio Firefly vehicles. This action addresses a potential issue with the steering system wiring harnesses that could lead to a loss of power steering.
