BYD has reached a production milestone of 100,000 new energy vehicles at its manufacturing facility in Thailand. The plant, located in the WHA Industrial Estate in Rayong province, achieved this output approximately 26 months after commencing operations in July 2024. The 100,000th vehicle produced at the site was a BYD Atto 3, which was also the first model the company introduced to the Thai market in 2022.

The facility currently employs over 5,000 people, with Thai nationals making up 95% of the workforce, an increase from 93% in July. Additionally, about 50% of the plant's procurement is sourced locally. The factory has a designed annual capacity of 150,000 vehicles and produces five models that have received Made in Thailand certification, including the Dolphin, Atto 3, and various versions of the Sealion and Seal 5.

The plant serves as a key production and export hub for BYD in the Asia-Pacific region. In August 2025, the facility began exporting vehicles to Europe, with an initial shipment of over 900 BYD Dolphin units sent to the UK, Germany, and Belgium. As of July, BYD's cumulative vehicle deliveries in Thailand, including imports, exceeded 130,000 units, reinforcing the country's status as the company's primary market in the region.
