BYD has initiated a large-scale recruitment drive at its Xi'an production base, seeking over 8,000 new employees. The company is offering signing bonuses of up to ¥6,000, with monthly salaries for skilled positions reaching as high as ¥10,000.

The Xi'an facility is the company's largest manufacturing hub, featuring four development phases with a combined annual capacity of 1.5 million vehicles. Production at the site exceeded 1 million units in 2024, though output was temporarily constrained earlier this year due to assembly line upgrades.

All four factory sites in Xi'an have now resumed normal operations. The hiring surge follows a recovery in production and a significant increase in export orders, which rose 134.5% year-on-year to a record 189,466 vehicles in August.

Regional data reflects this turnaround, with vehicle production in Shaanxi province reaching 138,900 units in August. This figure represents a 55.4% increase compared to July and an 18% rise year-on-year, signaling a rapid ramp-up in manufacturing activity.
