BYD has officially launched the ETT 44, a new heavy-duty electric tractor designed specifically for the European long-haul logistics market. The vehicle features a 6x2 drive configuration and is capable of handling a maximum gross combination weight of 44 tons, aligning with standard requirements for long-distance freight operations in Europe.
The ETT 44 is built on BYD's latest heavy-duty truck platform and utilizes the company's proprietary Blade Battery technology. This battery system is designed to provide high energy density, improved safety, and longer service life, which are critical for the demands of heavy-duty transport and extended range requirements.
To enhance operational efficiency, the truck supports high-power fast charging, reducing downtime during logistics operations. The vehicle also includes a modern cabin and an integrated fleet management system, allowing operators to monitor real-time vehicle status, battery health, and energy consumption data to optimize costs.
The launch of the ETT 44 reflects BYD's strategy to expand its commercial vehicle presence in international markets, particularly as European countries implement stricter carbon emission regulations for heavy transport. The company aims to transition from pilot programs to full commercial operations in the region.
