BYD presented its new C12 DUO electric coach at the Euro Bus Expo in Birmingham. The 12.3-meter vehicle is designed specifically for the UK market, targeting tour operators, school transport, and intercity services. It features a seating capacity for up to 57 passengers and offers a range of up to 340 miles, or approximately 547 kilometers.

The coach is equipped with LFP Blade Batteries integrated directly into the frame to improve torsional rigidity and reduce weight. Customers can choose between two battery configurations of 429 kWh and 495 kWh. The manufacturer provides a 15-year warranty on the battery packs. The vehicle supports charging at up to 215 kW and offers four cubic meters of luggage space.

The C12 DUO measures 12.3 by 2.55 by 3.54 meters with a wheelbase of 6.15 meters. While the press release does not detail the drivetrain, the company notes the model shares technology with its existing urban buses. BYD has already delivered or secured orders for over 3,000 electric buses in the UK, which currently include various single-deck and double-decker models.
