BYD has fully commissioned its new power battery production facility in the Xixian New Area, Shaanxi Province. Located in the Qinhan New City, this site serves as a central battery hub for the company in Northwest China. The facility covers the entire manufacturing process, from electrode preparation and cell formation to module assembly, battery pack integration, and final system testing, utilizing the MES intelligent manufacturing system.
The Xixian base is designated as one of the first production sites for BYD's second-generation Blade Battery and a core center for mass-producing flash-charging technology. The project was completed in 10 months, with the first production line achieving cell output on October 17, 2025. Trial production of the second-generation Blade Battery began in March 2026, following the official release of the technology.
The facility provides localized battery supply for BYD vehicle manufacturing in Xi'an, supporting the production of models such as the Seal 08, which launched on July 2. According to BYD Executive Vice President He Zhiqi, the production lines have been operating with increasing efficiency. The company is currently scaling up monthly production capacity to meet strong market demand for flash-charging vehicle models.
