The cryptocurrency exchange Bybit has obtained a full virtual asset service provider license from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority. This authorization allows the company to offer exchange services, including spot trading, to retail, qualified, and institutional investors within the region.
The new license is registered as active in the public database of the regulator. Previously, the company held an in-principle approval, which was non-operational and did not grant the exchange permission to serve local customers.
Despite receiving the full license, Bybit is required to complete additional regulatory launch processes and meet specific operational criteria before the services can go live. The company has not yet announced a firm date for the launch of its spot trading operations.
In October 2025, Bybit previously secured a Virtual Asset Platform Operator license from the federal Securities and Commodities Authority of the United Arab Emirates. However, that license did not cover the jurisdiction of Dubai for the services provided by its local entity.
