Brighteye Ventures has secured €62.4 million in the first close of its third fund. This milestone brings the firm's total assets under management to €212.2 million. New limited partners include the Lumina Foundation, Zanichelli, and PI Impact, joining existing backers like the European Investment Fund.
Founded in 2017 by Ben Wirz and Alex Spiro Latsis, the firm focuses on early-stage investments. Since inception, it has backed over 50 companies that have collectively raised more than €866 million in follow-on capital. Brighteye typically leads or co-leads rounds with initial investments ranging from €400k to €4 million.
The new fund marks a strategic shift beyond traditional EdTech toward the HumanOS concept. The firm plans to support startups integrating AI into workflows for education, healthcare, cybersecurity, and climate infrastructure. Brighteye aims to make up to 35 investments from this third fund.
Eight investments have already been made from the new fund, including the Swedish startup imagi, NEX Health Intelligence, and the marketplace Gyver. Alongside the fundraising, the firm announced internal promotions, including David Guérin to Partner, and launched a refreshed brand identity.
