Audio equipment manufacturer Bose announced the acquisition of the headphone brand Skullcandy on October 21. The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction.

The partnership between the two firms began earlier through the Sound by Bose technology integration. Skullcandy previously incorporated Bose active noise cancellation and head-tracking spatial audio into its Method 360 ANC and Crusher 1080 ANC models.

Bose aims to expand its market reach by leveraging Skullcandy’s strong presence in youth-oriented sectors, including gaming, music, fitness, and extreme sports like snowboarding and surfing.

Skullcandy will operate as an independent brand under the Bose premium audio division while maintaining its headquarters in Park City, Utah. The company will now gain access to Bose research resources, global distribution channels, and technical expertise.
