BMW is currently developing a new flagship electric SUV, the iX7, which was recently spotted testing at the Nurburgring circuit in Germany. The vehicle will feature a refreshed design language characterized by cleaner lines and the replacement of traditional door handles with electric flaps located at the base of the door pillars.
The iX7 will be built on an upgraded version of the CLAR platform, shared with the next-generation iX5 and X5 models. Technical specifications indicate that the vehicle will support a maximum charging power of 460kW. Due to its larger dimensions, the iX7 is expected to be approximately 125mm longer than the iX5, allowing for a higher-capacity battery pack.
Regarding performance, the SUV is expected to utilize the motor configuration from the iX5, including a dual-motor system with 578 horsepower. BMW also plans to introduce a more powerful M-series variant in the future. The interior will feature the panoramic iDrive system, including a full-width display along the windshield and a parallelogram-shaped center screen.
