BMW has unveiled the Concept 7 Protection, an armored sedan designed to offer a more discreet appearance compared to the company's existing VR6-rated models. The vehicle is built to the new BayB standard, specifically focusing on protection against common handgun ammunition, such as 9 mm and .44 Magnum rounds.

The sedan features bulletproof glass and doors constructed from ballistic steel and fiber-reinforced composites. Similar materials are integrated beneath the panoramic sunroof. The interior maintains luxury standards, utilizing Smoke White Merino leather and Alcantara headliners, alongside an intercom and an attack alarm system.

The concept is based on the M760e xDrive platform, utilizing a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine paired with an electric motor. This powertrain delivers a combined output of 603 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. BMW plans to introduce a new fold-down rear console with a table and cool box to the 7 Series range in the second half of 2027.
