BMW is developing its first Alpina-branded model under full ownership, based on the updated 7-Series. Recent spy shots taken near the Nürburgring test center reveal distinct design elements, including amber LED daytime running lights, which may become a signature feature for future Alpina vehicles.

The prototype features a unique front grille with three horizontal slats, contrasting with the seven found on standard 7-Series models. The vehicle also sports a modified lower bumper, custom air intakes, and specialized wheels. The rear design incorporates Alpina's signature oval-shaped tailpipes and a potential new bumper configuration.

The new model is expected to utilize a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine, similar to the one in the M760 xDrive, with performance tuning for increased power and torque. While BMW has not confirmed an official release date, industry expectations point to a debut in 2025.

Beyond the 7-Series sedan, the company is also working on an Alpina version of the next-generation X7. BMW previously confirmed that this SUV model is currently scheduled for a market launch in 2027.
