BMW is currently evaluating the development of a new full-size SUV, internally designated as project G63. The vehicle is intended to sit above the existing X7 model in the company's lineup, aiming to address high demand for large premium SUVs in the United States.

While the final name remains undecided, the upcoming model could be marketed as the X8 or X9. If the project moves to production, the vehicle would become the largest SUV in the history of the brand, potentially reaching a length of 5,38 meters, similar to the Cadillac Escalade.

The manufacturer is considering the BMW plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, as the primary production site for the new flagship. This facility already serves as a key hub for the company's X-series lineup, aligning with BMW's strategy to localize production in key markets.
