BlackRock has launched the iShares Future Robotics and Related Technologies Active ETF, trading under the ticker RBTX. This is the firm's first actively managed fund dedicated specifically to the robotics sector, covering companies involved in development, component supply, and automation services.
The fund is managed by Tony Kim and Reid Menge, who are part of BlackRock’s Fundamental Equities Technology Team. This team currently oversees more than $50 billion in AI and technology investment strategies. Unlike passive index funds, the managers will actively select stocks and determine their weightings.
RBTX carries an expense ratio of 0.65 percent. Following its launch on October 21, 2026, the fund reported initial net assets of approximately $10 million. The fund's performance will be measured against the MSCI ACWI Net index as a benchmark.
This launch follows the success of the iShares A.I. Innovation and Tech Active ETF (BAI), which has accumulated over $14 billion in assets since its inception in October 2024. As of September 2026, BlackRock's total active ETF lineup held approximately $200 billion in assets.
