Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget announced a one-off exercise to discontinue services for a specific segment of its user base. The company stated that the platform will continue to operate normally during this transition and that all user funds remain secure.
Affected users will receive direct communication regarding the process, including instructions for withdrawals and relevant deadlines. Notifications will be delivered via email, in-app messages, or push notifications. Customers who do not receive such alerts may continue using their accounts without changes.
The exchange advised users to rely solely on official communication channels to avoid phishing attempts or fraudulent accounts. Support teams remain available to assist with pending orders and withdrawal inquiries throughout the transition period.
This update follows a security incident reported by Cointelegraph on September 25, when Bitget confirmed unauthorized transfers. A security firm later estimated the total losses from the breach at approximately $388 million.
