Nine US-listed companies have formally blocked the tokenization of their shares on the upcoming OKXICE platform. The joint venture between crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange initially planned to offer 63 tokenized stocks.
The companies that filed objections include Broadcom, UnitedHealth Group, Verizon, Cerebras Systems, AppLovin, Applied Digital, Rocket Lab, CoreWeave, and Applied Optoelectronics. These entities expressed concerns regarding potential impacts on stock liquidity and price, as well as investor confusion.
The objections were submitted during a 30-day window mandated by the SEC Innovation Exemption, issued on September 17, 2026. This framework allows issuers to veto the tokenization of their equity on specific platforms.
OKXICE, a 50-50 joint venture, intends to facilitate 24/7 permissioned trading of tokenized stocks via Uniswap v4, with settlements in stablecoins like USDC and USDT. The platform is not yet live.
Despite the 14% objection rate for the initial batch, OKXICE plans to proceed with other offerings, including tokenized versions of Nvidia, Apple, and Microsoft.
