Baidu Maps has launched a dedicated indoor navigation feature for HarmonyOS, leveraging Huawei's Xingji positioning technology. The service covers 106 major shopping malls across 22 cities in China, allowing users to navigate from mall entrances to specific stores without switching between indoor and outdoor modes.

The technology supports automatic floor switching and provides guidance for finding entrances and elevators. Huawei introduced the Xingji positioning system on October 12, aiming to address limitations in traditional navigation for complex environments like tunnels, parking garages, and sports venues.

Huawei's positioning solution utilizes HiSilicon short-range chips and GNSS carrier phase measurement to improve ranging accuracy by over 10 times. In vehicle navigation, it achieves sub-meter precision, while for indoor environments, the system currently supports 500,000 geofenced commercial areas and 17,000 indoor buildings.
