Avatr has unveiled the exterior design of its upcoming 9-series flagship SUV, a six-seat model developed in full collaboration with Huawei. The vehicle features a boxy profile, a panoramic glass roof, and a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, which is expected to be the Huawei Qiankun 896-channel dual-optical-path unit. The official launch is scheduled for the end of 2026.

This model marks a shift in the partnership between Avatr and Huawei, as it integrates Huawei's vehicle control, lighting, voice, and smart driving technologies. The SUV will compete in the domestic market against models such as the Aito M9, Li Auto L9, Denza N9, and IM LS9. Avatr aims to use this flagship to improve its product mix and profit margins.

The company faces pressure to increase sales, having sold 35 250 vehicles in the first seven months of 2026, averaging 5 040 units per month. Financial data from a recent Hong Kong listing application shows 2025 revenue of ¥25,63 billion, a net loss of ¥3,49 billion, and a gross margin of 9,4 percent. Avatr is backed by Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL.
