Audi has finalized a restructuring plan for its operations in China. Under the new strategy, SAIC Audi will focus exclusively on the AUDI brand, while the traditional four-ring logo product line will be fully managed by FAW Audi.
The AUDI brand is a dedicated series of smart connected electric vehicles developed specifically for the Chinese market. These vehicles will not feature the iconic four-ring emblem, distinguishing them from the global portfolio of internal combustion and electric models.
To support this initiative, Audi and SAIC established the Audi Innovation and Technology Center (AITC) in Shanghai on September 3. This joint venture is tasked with end-to-end vehicle development for the AUDI brand.
The companies are collaborating on the Audi ADP 2.0 digital platform to create four new models. The first vehicle developed under this architecture is scheduled for release in 2028.
