Audi has announced plans to construct its first manufacturing facility in the United States, located in Georgia. The project involves an investment of approximately $4 billion. The company expects the new plant to reach an annual production capacity of up to 200,000 vehicles, with construction scheduled to begin next year and production slated for the early 2030s.

The decision follows significant financial pressure from import tariffs, which cost Audi $1.4 billion in the previous year. By establishing a local production base, the company aims to mitigate these expenses and strengthen its position in the North American market. The site is expected to create approximately 4,500 jobs and support a broader network of suppliers and service providers.

While Audi has not officially confirmed the specific vehicle lineup, reports indicate the factory will focus on premium SUVs, including the Q7, Q8, and the upcoming Q9. This move aligns with the company's goal to establish North America as its third major global production pillar, joining existing operations in Europe and China.
