Audi, a subsidiary of Volkswagen, plans to invest $4.2 billion in a new manufacturing facility located in Macon, Georgia. According to Donald Trump, construction is scheduled to commence next month. The plant is projected to reach an annual production capacity of 200,000 vehicles.

Audi CEO Gernot Dollner confirmed the company's commitment to establishing local production. He stated that the move is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the brand's presence in the United States, which remains a key global market for premium automobiles.

The announcement coincides with reports from Der Spiegel regarding further workforce reductions at Volkswagen. The company intends to cut an additional 12,000 jobs by 2030, on top of the previously planned reduction of 35,000 positions. Board member Arne Meiswinkel cited the company's deteriorating financial situation as the reason for these measures.
